3 Quotes to Upgrade Your Mindset

3 Quotes to Upgrade Your Mindset

For those of you that like to have control, I have great news. You are in complete control of your mindset. No one can tell you how to think or feel. That statement may not be completely accurate as people tell us all the time what we should think. If you haven’t done this already, empower yourself to know you are the sole decision maker of your mindset. If it’s positive, congrats and keep up the great work. If it’s negative, you have the power to change it right now. Here are three quotes that will help upgrade your mindset immediately.

“The key to success is to focus our conscious mind on things we desire not things we fear”. -Brian Tracy

I try not to use the word hate as I see very little value in that word. However, I hate how much fear runs people’s lives. We have a natural fight or flight mechanism built in us if something were to threaten our existence on this planet. It is so rare that we must face that predator or terrorist in real life. For the 99.9% of our lives, if we can alter our focus to our dreams, desires, and goals, it is amazing what can be accomplished. We all have that ability but must be intentional to say no to those fears and yes to courage.

“You cannot have a positive life and a negative mind”. -Joyce Meyer

If you immediately dismissed this quote and thought of that millionaire that is negative and has a “perfect life”, I get it. Our world is greatly shaped by facades on social media and surface level appearances. I have personally worked with many executives that seem to have it all together on the outside but are dying on the inside. Once the “onion is peeled” what I have found is pain from a previous experience and that carries forward to a negative mindset. Remember, “hurt people, hurt people”. They are hurting and thus the negative thoughts but once the mindset is shifted positively then fulfillment is obtained both on the outside and the inside.

“Whatever your mind can conceive and believe it can achieve”. -Napoleon Hill

I love this quote for so many reasons. First off it rhymes, secondly it is so simplistic and beautiful. Napoleon Hill has influenced so many people with his books, most notably Think and Grow Rich. It’s remarkable to think that his research of the most successful people in the early 1900s (which included Andrew Carnegie, Henry Ford, and John D. Rockefeller and many more), those lessons are still so prevalent today. Whatever you can think of you can achieve. Recent examples of this are Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, and Mark Zuckerberg. At times they have all been regarded as “crazy” for thinking the iphone, electric cars, and Facebook could work. They thought of it and brought that crazy idea into existence.

My kids probably get tired of hearing me say this but “You are in complete control of two things. Your attitude and your effort. How is yours today?”. I ask them that question every day because I ask myself the same question. How is my attitude today? Is my mindset positive or negative? Our mindsets are fluid and ever changing. It’s important to check in and make sure that you are feeding your mind positive stuff. Your life will mirror your mindset. If your mindset is positive, your life will be positive.
