3 Keys to Build Self-Confidence
Knowing how to build self confidence is a vital skill when trying to live your very best life. Of all the things that I coach my clients on, this might be the most important. When you believe in yourself, anything can be accomplished. Unfortunately, the opposite also applies: if you don’t believe in yourself, it is going to be extremely difficult to ever realize your dreams.

Are some people just born confident? Perhaps that is the case, but that doesn’t mean you can’t build your own. I know three effective ways to boost your confidence, and I’m excited to share them with you in this self-confidence blog! The 3 Ps are an easy way to remember the keys to confidence.
Positive Self Talk
This isn’t the first or last time that you will hear me reference the inner dialogue that we each battle every single day. We have over 50,000 thoughts going through our heads every day. Inevitably some of them will be negative, neutral, and positive. The key is to replace the negative self-talk with something positive. Your mind can be manipulated but it takes practice and the more you do it the better you will be at it. For instance, if you say, “I don’t believe I can do this” about a certain event, just take out that one word of “don’t” and say, “I believe I can do this”. It may be uncomfortable in the beginning as any new habit is. Keep practicing and you will get better at it and start building your self-confidence.
Put Yourself Out There
What have you been holding back on? Is there something that you know you want to do but F.E.A.R. (false evidence appearing real) has kept you from doing? Everyone in this world experiences fear unless you have had some severe damage to your amygdala. Assuming that is not the case then change the way you perceive fear. If you feel “butterflies in your stomach” when you are about to speak, think what an amazing feeling it is to be alive. Rather than focusing on it being a negative feeling, replace that with an empowering thought of “how lucky am I to feel this unique feeling”. Overcoming any fear will build your self-confidence. So, start small and build your confidence daily by facing those challenges head on.
For you to believe in yourself, you need to love yourself first. For other people to love you, you need to love yourself first. There is a pattern and that is taking care of yourself first so that you can experience one of the most important things a human being needs which is love. What do you need to do to give yourself proper self-care? Everyone is slightly different but the three things I want you to focus on is taking care of your mind, body, and soul every single day. I try not to focus on time spent on these areas, but a minimum would be 5 minutes each day. Commit to 15 minutes a day (minimum) of self-care. Those 15 minutes a day can radically boost your self-esteem and allow others to help reaffirm what an incredible person you are.
There was a song by Naughty by Nature, and it asked, “Are you down with O.P.P.”? The chorus would answer “Yeah you know me!” (If you don’t know the song, do yourself a favor and search up that piece of music history). While I’m not advocating for what O.P.P. stands for, I am asking for you to do this for yourself when it comes to PPP. Ask yourself “Are you down with P.P.P.”? I hope that your answer is, “Yeah you know me!” with as much vigor as you did when dancing around to that classic 90s rap song. Have fun with your P.P.P. and build your self-confidence infinitely so you can live your very best life while helping everyone around you as well!
